Happy 46th Birthday to Krist Novoselic -By Carlie Kiggans

Today, Krist Novoselic turns 46! Many know Krist as the bassist and co-founder of Nirvana (1987-1994). But he was also involved with other musical acts, Sweet 75 and Eyes Adrift both which formed after Nirvana ended. Since Krist has put music on the back burner, he has become very involved with polotics, and remains active as a state elected committeeman. It all started in 1995, he created JAMPAC (Joint Artists and Musicians Political Action Committee). JAMPAC has helped Krist tackle many political issues concerning music, since it's creation.

Since becoming an active politician, he has written one book and directed one film. Krist still finds time to return to his musical roots, in 2010 he preformed with Dave Grohl and Pat Smear, and in 2011 he recorded bass and accordion on Foo Fighers' newest album Wasting Light.

Happy 46th birthday, Krist!

This post has been by our new writer Carlie Kiggans. We are thrilled to have her joining us at Dad's Car Radio!

Four Year Strong Leave Record Label

AP Fall Tour headlining band Four Year Strong have left Universal Republic Records. It has not been disclosed where the band plans to go but they have expressed that no one is upset about this decision on the bands side of things. Read full statement from the band below.

When the merger between Motown and Republic happened, our album was essentially done,” says FYS manager Rob Hitt. “Republic put out the album since it was done and didn’t seem like they had much intention other than that, so we were able to get off the label. Nobody is unhappy about this on our side.
